If the applet doesn't start,
you should download the latest
Java plug-in from Sun's web site
In order to compute the radiance between two wavelength
values, proceed as follows:
- Define the temperature, given in K
- Define the wavelength range, with units
- Define the emissivity, between 0 and 1
- Click on the button <Compute>
Displayed values :
- Total radiance on all the spectrum
- Radiance integrated between the two given wavelength values
- Photometric efficiency, calculted on all the visible spectrum
The displayed curve is Planck's curve multiplied by the emissivity
After each change of the temperature of one of
the wavelength values, click on <Compute>
to update the display of the values and of the curve.
To get the numerical values of the curve available for another
application, select "Table" in the listbox, and a
value table will be displayed in a text area, select all the
table and type CTRL-C to copy it in the clipboard.
You can then paste the values in any text editor.
